Role Summary
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting daily shipping, receiving, transportation, and logistics activities to ensure the accurate and timely movement of materials and finished goods. This position works closely with Shipping, Receiving, Inventory, Production, Planning, Customer Service, and external transportation providers to support customer requirements and overall plant operations.
The Logistics Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining shipment accuracy, coordinating transportation, resolving logistics issues, and ensuring required shipping documentation and system transactions are completed accurately and on time.
The salary range for this role is $60,000 - $72,000/year.
Main Tasks
- Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- - Coordinate daily inbound and outbound shipments to meet customer and production requirements.
- - Schedule and coordinate freight pickups and deliveries with carriers, drivers, and transportation providers.
- - Prepare, process, and verify shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, labels, and other required documents.
- - Process and monitor ASNs (Advanced Shipping Notices) and other customer-required shipping transactions.
- - Ensure shipments are processed accurately and within required customer deadlines.
- - Monitor scheduled shipments and proactively communicate delays, shortages, or transportation issues.
- - Work closely with Shipping, Receiving, Inventory, Production, Planning, and Customer Service to resolve shipment-related concerns.
- - Communicate with carriers regarding pickup schedules, late arrivals, missed pickups, delivery issues, and other transportation concerns.
- - Maintain accurate shipment records and logistics documentation.
- - Assist with freight tracking and provide shipment status updates as needed.
- - Support customer-specific shipping and routing requirements.
- - Assist with freight claims, discrepancies, shortages, and damaged shipments as needed.
- - Verify system transactions and documentation for shipping and receiving accuracy.
- - Support inventory accuracy by communicating and resolving shipment or receiving discrepancies.
- - Assist with transportation cost control and identify opportunities to improve freight efficiency.
- - Maintain organized electronic and physical logistics records.
- - Support continuous improvement initiatives within Logistics, Shipping, and Receiving.
- - Follow all MANN+HUMMEL safety, quality, environmental, and operational policies and procedures.
- - Perform additional logistics and supply chain duties as assigned based on business needs.
- Qualifications
- - High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
- - Previous experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, receiving, warehousing, or supply chain preferred.
- - Experience working in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
- - Knowledge of shipping documentation, freight coordination, and transportation processes.
- - Experience processing ASNs and customer shipping requirements preferred.
- - Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and ERP/WMS systems.
- - SAP or similar ERP experience preferred.
- - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- - Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- - Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- - Ability to work effectively with employees, supervisors, carriers, customers, and cross-functional departments.
- - Ability to identify problems, communicate concerns quickly, and assist with developing solutions.
